In September 2006 many individuals and families turned out to walk for charity raising
funds and awareness for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) in Balboa
Park. An interest list was created to start a support group. Thanks to our ten founding
members, who saw value in establishing such a group, and our medical advisors
Seema Aceves M.D., Ph.D. and
Sherry Huang M.D. we were able to receive an affiliation with the
Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). We are considered
a FEAST group:
Food
Education
Allergy
Support
Team.
Our first open meeting was held in November 2006. We have no other affiliations,
and are simply a group of parents gathering to share our challenges and experiences
in trying to raise well-adjusted food allergic children. Our members include parents
with newly diagnosed infants to those preparing to send their “children” to college,
and every scenario in between. Together we share the common bond of living the “food
allergy lifestyle”. We can benefit from and be comforted by the experiences of others.
This group will ultimately be anything the membership makes it.

Our mission is to offer educational seminars, share practical strategies and increase
awareness about food and latex allergies in the Greater San Diego Area.

We invite you to join our
meetings & events whether you
are new to the food allergy arena or a veteran. If you would like to be notified

We will include you on our interest list and keep you updated.
